Located in the heart of London’s West End on New Oxford Street, The Orangery TCR is a restaurant by the Good Eating Company. It is home to one of the world’s first hydroponic farms fully integrated into a commercial restaurant, situated in the basement in collaboration with Square Mile Farms, and is the largest on-site hydroponic farm in London. The farm sits directly beneath the restaurant, growing fresh, pesticide-free ingredients that are harvested just hours before reaching the kitchen. Crops including kale, lettuce, bok choy, basil and rainbow chard form the foundation of a menu that champions modern British cooking with a genuinely local story. Since opening, more than 1350 kilograms of vertically farmed produce grown on-site has been used in the restaurant’s seasonal menu, and hydroponic growing methods mean the farm uses up to 90% less water than traditional farming, eliminates the need for chemical pesticides, and avoids plastic packaging entirely. Beyond the farm, 87% of food spend comes from British suppliers within 50 miles, further cutting food miles and supporting the wider British supply chain.

This pioneering, forward-thinking approach to sustainable dining saw The Orangery TCR named winner of the Innovation Award at the Foodservice Cateys 2025, with judges recognising an innovative project that could set a template for others to follow.

The venue also houses a Chef’s Table located within the hydroponic farm on the lower ground floor, offering a one-of-a-kind private dining experience where guests can enjoy a bespoke tasting menu surrounded by the very produce featured on their plate, making it a striking and highly flexible setting for brands and corporate events alike.

The Good Eating Company (GEC) was founded in 1999 with the aim of bringing restaurant-quality food to corporate dining. Over more than two decades, it has built a reputation as a distinctive, hospitality-led food business, delivering high-end quality food services to clients in the creative, media and arts, investment and financial management, FMCG and pharmaceutical industries. The business has expanded beyond London, delivering services to new clients nationally and across the United States. The Orangery TCR represents the flagship expression of that philosophy – proof that good food, good people and good service can come together with genuine innovation at the centre of the plate.
